Dr. J. Qian is a Canadian board certified Anesthesiologist and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. 

He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Queen’s University, followed by a master’s degree in medical biochemistry at the same institution. During his master’s degree, his research into targeted drug therapies was recognized with an award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. 

Subsequently, Dr. Qian pursued his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Ottawa, where he received a Canadian Institutes of Health Research award for his efforts to improve ultrasound-guided treatments. 

Using his experience in developing targeted therapies, Dr. Qian completed his 5-year Anesthesiology specialty training at McGill University. 

Dr. Qian is currently an attending anesthesiologist at several teaching hospitals affiliated with McGill University. He applies his expertise in drug therapies and ultrasound-targeted interventions to ensure that his patients have a comfortable and safe experience before, during and after surgery.
