Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet rich plasma, also known as PRP, has long been used in orthopedics, dentistry and reconstructive surgery.

Its benefits are now being applied to other branches of medicine, such as dermatology, healing of skin lesions, aesthetic facial rejuvenation and hair loss. More than 30 years of scientific research found that PRP stimulates the production of new collagen when injected into the skin. New research shows that PRP can effectively treat sun-caused skin lesions and skin aging.

Harnessing the benefits of cells contained in blood plasma, PRP treatment stimulates the natural formation of collagen and helps improve skin texture. The appearance of wrinkles is reduced, the skin is smoother and regains elasticity and volume. Platelets, which are a type of blood cells, speed up the healing process and carry growth factors that promote both cell and tissue regeneration.

Because PRP treatments involve injecting the patient’s own cells, they are safe and can be done alone or in combination with other procedures. It is recommended to do at least 3 PRP treatments to achieve visible and long-lasting results.

In consultation, Annie Lorefice, Le 1620’s aesthetic nurse, will establish a personalized treatment plan and will determine the number of treatments necessary to achieve the patient’s goal and desired results.
